Event Waste Management – Waste and Recycling Form

This form is to be completed by the Event Manager/Organiser and submitted to Hornsby Shire Council 10 business days prior to the event. This includes your Bin Hire Request. Please email waste@hornsby.nsw.gov.au or call 13 70 30 for more details or assistance with this form.

Please estimate the types and expected volumes of waste and/or recycling generated. Estimates should include Front of House and Back of House operations for each stall. See below example.

Education and Communication

To reduce waste to landfill and maximise resource recovery, Council recommends the following actions to be implemented at your event. Please provide details on which of the following actions you intend to take.

*Bin numbers will be assessed by Council. Please use the bin calculation guidelines on our website under ‘ Event Waste Management and Bin Hire’ to ensure you are ordering a sufficient number of garbage and recycling bins. If you are unsure, please email waste@hornsby.nsw.gov.au or call 13 70 30.

Fees

A fee will be charged to the event organiser for the supply and servicing of all waste and recycling bins. Council’s waste and recycling service fee includes:

  • Bin delivery and collection

  • Bin cleaning

  • Disposal of waste

  • Disposal of all recycling


Additional Fee Condition

Additional costs may be incurred if:

  • Additional bins are required

  • A post event site sweep is required to be conducted by Council

  • The event site is left in an unsatisfactory condition
