Please note the submission of this form does not guarantee grant funding. Applicants will receive feedback on their applications as soon as possible.

Applications for events to be held on Council parks and sportsgrounds are subject to an annual event application process.

Proposed date(s) of event ** please note if hire of a Council space is requested, venues may not be available on your allocated dates, A successful grant application does not guarantee venue availability.

Please note: If proposing to apply for a grant at a Council park or sports field an ‘Event Licence’ must accompany this grant application.

Financial assistance from Council can include cash, in-kind Council assistance or a combination of cash and in-kind assistance.

Total dollar value amount of financial assistance sought from Hornsby Shire Council?

(including cash and ‘in-kind’ expenses such as fees and charges for hiring of a venue etc. If you don’t know the value of ‘in-kind’ expenses, this will be estimated by Council based on the information provided on this application.)

The following are common requirements of staging events in the Hornsby Shire LGA and are subject to charges:

• Hire of facility (consider duration of event, lighting etc.)

• Access to facilities that require keys (e.g. canteen, toilet blocks, change rooms, power)

• Waste Management (e.g. extra bins, removal of excess waste)

• Amusement devices (e.g. inflatable jumping castles, rides, sideshows)

• Road Closure

  • preparation of traffic management plan

  • application for road closures

  • use of traffic controllers

• Fireworks and other pyrotechnics

In accordance with Council’s Community Event Grant Policy and Code of Conduct, please respond to the following:

I understand if this grant application is successful:

• This does not constitute approval of a proposed event or use of Council facilities. Applicants will be required to seek any relevant approvals e.g. Council, RMS etc related to the event. Council reserves the right to refuse applications that do not conform with Council policy or legislative requirement.

• Payment of Council Grants are conditional upon securing all necessary statutory approvals for the proposed event (where applicable).

• I will be required to provide sign a Funding Deed Agreement, including the provision of documentation of public liability insurance. I have read Council’s Community Event Grant Policy and Code of Conduct.

• I acknowledgement that Council may terminate or suspend agreements if information provided by you is inaccurate, incomplete or misleading or if the agreement affects Council’s ability to carry out regulatory functions fully and impartially.

• Failure to manage an event within the terms of the grant, related event approvals or to provide acquittals of expenditure may result in future applications being refused.
